I seem to photograph this church a lot. It's up on a hill and visible from many different places. I am not interested in a photographic study of its architecture so much as a study of its symbology. I don't have any interest in going inside for any reason other than to see what it looks like. I am a kind of moth drawn to the spiritual flame, but I don't have faith in the spiritual being the building presumably reaches out to. So I photograph it from a distance. I photograph it through trees, above piles of excavation rubble. I photograph its looming presence and wonder what it is I am so attracted to?
