This past Saturday was the opening of Archipelago at Theo Ganz Studio in Beacon NY. It is a really nice show with a range of styles and mediums. I am honored to be showing with these artists. If you live in Beacon, or are passing through, I recommend checking it out. Lots of good art in the show and some of it is very affordable.
Here are high quality images of my photographs:
Though it wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be, given the number of artists in the show, a continuous flow of people came through.
My best moment came as I was talking to Jennifer Sarah Blakeslee, a fellow artist who made the wonderful painted masks. An acquaintance of hers came up and said "those photographs are beautiful" (pointing to mine) and asked if she had done them (she's a terrific photographer too). We laughed and told him I made them and I thanked him for the best compliment I could have gotten.
Beyond friends, I noticed a number of people I have never seen studying my photographs. One couple in particular was having an animated conversation about them. The man was trying to explain something to his wife, I'm not sure what. It was fun to see strangers engage with them in an animated way. I haven't had that experience before.
Thank you Eleni! And congrats to my fellow artists.
